EDGEBANDING
ZERO LINE

See swatches

The special underlayer on the back of the edgeband has the same colour than the main part of the edgeband, and most probable it also has the same tone as the surface of the board. Thanks to this, the joint is less visible as there is no intermediate body, such as the glue, in a different tone.

The laser and the hot air technologies can be considered as one of the most recent innovations of the edgebanding industry. The objective of these skilled techniques is making the joint between the edge and the surface almost invisible for the customer. For this reason it is known as Zero Line.

In Cantisa we have available two different versions of Zero Line edgebanding. They are known as pre-glued and direct coextrusion.

Hot air

The back special underlayer of the edge melts by the implementation of compressed air at high temperatures. The investment is inferior to the one of laser, as it has a simpler technology and an inferior maintenance.

It is recommended for medium and small series.

Canteado láser | Laser edgebanding

Laser diode

The back special underlayer of the edge melts by means with a laser diode. This involves a high investment, and the systems of lens and sources of laser are complex and delicate.

It is recommended for big productions.

Preglued

The edge with pre-glued laser preparation is also known as laser preparation.

Based on a Standard edge a thin special underlayer is implemented on the back of the edge. This special underlayer is the one that melts and subsequently penetrates on the agglomerate.

In this way a standard edgeband transforms into a special edgeband that can be used with a bundle of laser, hot air or NIR technologies.

Minimum order: one roll
Available widths: any width from 19mm to 60mm
Available finishes and thicknesses: please contact us.

Coextruded

The sheet that is in contact with the agglomerate is very thin (0.2mm). The hot air, the laser and the NIR technologues are used to reactivate and melt this layer. Once it’s melted, the special underlayer penetrates on the agglomerate and consequently disappears.

The sheet on the outside of the edge is thicker, therefore it does not experience the effect from the fusion of using laser, hot air or infrared radiation.

Both sheets develop a single body and have a similar tone to the one of the board surface.

Minimum order: one roll for references available ex-stock. Contact us to know minimun order for other colours.
Available widths: any width.
