The Rico family founded a company dedicated to the production of wood veneers that still exists today.
It was decided to expand the wood activities with the creation of Cantisa S.A., for the manufacture of edges and mouldings.
We were ahead of market trends and began to market melamine and PVC edges, which were still unknown in Spain but would soon be in great demand.
We start printing and applying textures on the PVC. The customised copies are very successful in the market. In the following years we would increase our production capacity with several printing lines.
We explore new markets outside Spain. Soon after, we would create an Export Department and the Cantisa name would be recognised in countries in Europe, Africa, America and Asia. Today we export to more than 50 countries.
The demand for our products continues to grow. Thanks to our top quality strategy, we managed to exceed the daily sales figure of one million metres of edge. And it would continue to grow.
We created the innovative collection of Edges that Decorate with the aim of highlighting the value of the edges as a decorative element and not as a mere complement. One of them, the Canto Reja, received an Interzum Award.
We are the first edge manufacturer in Spain to incorporate digital printing. This innovation allows us to create exact reproductions of the new digital melamines coming onto the market.
